Social Media growth in real time

social-mediaSpeaking of how big social media are becoming is much easier to imagine if we consider it in real time. Thanks to Gary Hayes, there is now a very cool and interactive tool counting the average activity of major social media including Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. Definitely worth having a look!

In his blog, Gary explains he started gathering statistics in September 2009 from various official sources to make the representation real. And the good news is he plans to update it regularly.

  • 4 million tweets sent daily

About Flickr (Source Yahoo Mar 09)

  • 73 million visitors a month who upload 700 million photos
